St. William is a member of the Interfaith Hospitality Network. The Network has been operational for nearly 10 years. It is a non-profit organization primarily funded by private grants, along with money from the Community Chest and United Way. The Center from which the Network operates is located on the site of old St. Michael Church in Lower Price Hill. Its primary mission is to aid homeless families. The candidates are rigorously screened and must show a willingness to help themselves to be in the program. A family can stay in the program for only 45 days. Each day the people meet with social workers and administrators of the Network to ensure that they are working to secure permanent housing.

To be a part of this program, each adult must sign a contract agreeing to a code of conduct while staying with us. The code consists of 14 rigid rules that must be followed, or the participants will be released from the program. When we are the host community, participants are transported to us at 5:30 p.m., and we provide dinner and evening companionship. St. William parishioners volunteer to spend the night with the guests in our Parish Center. Participants are picked up at 7a.m. the following morning to be transported back to the Center. The children are then taken to their schools. The parents either go to their jobs, or they work from the Center to find permanent housing.

We host a group of families approximately every other month. We are scheduled to participate in March, May, July and December. We chose not to host in September, October or November, as it would interfere with our annual Haunted House.
